GENERAL REPORT

After crossing the French coast, I saw 2 e/a with radial engines 1,500 ft. below. I reported by R/T that I was going to attack but nobody received my message as my W/T was unserviceable. The e/a I attacked tried to escape by diving, but I easily approached and opened fire from 150 yds. range. I saw pieces flying from the fuselage and tail unit and this e/a (probably a Macchi 200) disintegrated, and went down in a spin. I broke away and found myself below the bombers. I tried to join a formation of 7 Spitfires, and during this time I engaged a Me.109 from long range but without result. I landed at Northolt with these 7 aircraft from 306 Sqdn. at 15.10 hours.
I claim 1 Macchi 200 destroyed.
