Photographs taken on 6th March 1945 during the visit of General Anders when 316 Squadron performed a flypast. A few days before red rings were painted around the spinners of the squadron’s Mustangs. Many of 316's Mustangs photographed on that date have the legend Poland above the chessboard. It would seem that there had been a 'mass' transfer of aircraft from 309 Squadron as this was their tradition.
