1912hrs. Contact at 1915 hrs. head on but lost when turned to follow. At
2015 hrs. contact on Mosquito ahead. Left patrol area at 2020 hrs.
Crossed out 15 miles north of Dunkirk 2130 hrs. at 8,000 ft. Landed
Manston 2150 hrs.

Camps 1736 hrs. Crossed but Dover 1751 hrs. Landfall Cap Gris Nez 1756
hrs. at 15,000 ft. On patrol 1801 hrs. and at 1902 hrs. saw red and
green flares go down on Mannheim (Bomber Target). Meager, heavy flak
also noticed and 2 or 3 s/ls were illuminated. At 1910 hrs. height 15,
000 ft. several contacts on bomber streak 50 miles from Mannheim. Off
patrol at 1945 hrs. Crossed out Cap Gris Nez 2104 hrs. at 2,000 ft.
Landfall Dover 2111 hrs. Landed base 2118 hrs.
Weather:
- Channel 8/10 ths thin cloud at 15,000 ft. with several
layers. Below clearing at French coast.
Target area. 8/10 ths cloud at 2/3,000 ft. Clear above with
excellent visibility. Bomber target clear.
